The ability for nearby occupied spaces in the areas NOT undergoing renovation work to continue functioning is an important aspect of managing a construction site. Noise and vibration generated by construction are critical issues when those spaces include health care, libraries, conference rooms, teaching spaces, and labs. We will discuss the use of real-time construction simulation and monitoring to investigate tool selection and construction approaches, and to assess the work's compatibility/incompatibility with existing uses vs. the need to relocate.
