The Minnesota Historical Society and MOCA are revitalizing Historic Fort Snelling to present a broader, more expansive interpretive focus that explores larger themes of our national historic narrative that are still relevant today: the yearning for freedom and the defense of freedom; the protection of human rights; and the recognition of sovereignty and the struggle for power. Projects like these are not without opposition and require a calculated approach. MOCA, acting as the project's owner representative, will present a brief history of the site and outline strategies in assisting owners with politically challenging projects such as these.
